DeKalb Health has announced Tasha Eicher has been named interim president and chief executive officer. Eicher will also continue her position as vice president of Physician Services, Strategy and Development while leading DeKalb Health on an interim basis.
Eicher will succeed Craig Polkow, who announced his resignation on November 28th to accept a position with a large hospital system in southern Indiana.
“As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, we are confident Tasha Eicher will successfully lead DeKalb Health during the transition,” said Dr. Doug Morrow, DeKalb Health Board Chair. “The process to name a permanent CEO is underway.”
Tasha Eicher joined DeKalb Health on September 21, 2015, and has been instrumental to the development of the hospital’s strategic plan working alongside the Board of Directors, Polkow, and the leadership team.
During her time at DeKalb Health, Eicher has directed numerous initiatives including improving access to physician care and services, expanding provider recruitment, refreshing physician office spaces, and planning two new DeKalb Health Medical Group physician offices buildings located at 1061 Smaltz Way and 916 West Seventh Street in Auburn.
Polkow will continue to serve as CEO through December 31. Eicher will assume the interim role beginning January 1st.
