Performed in DeKalb Health’s Women’s Imaging and Diagnostic Suite, an ultrasound is a safe, state-of-the-art imaging exam. It uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images that differentiate between the body's soft tissues and fluid-filled structures.
Doppler ultrasound can also detect motion, such as the movement of blood cells. Unlike X-rays and CT scans, ultrasound does not use radiation and, therefore, may be used safely during pregnancy.
Executed by skilled professionals who are licensed by the state of Indiana and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Imaging Services employs the latest ultrasound technologies to provide your physician with important information that would not be available through other diagnostic techniques.
